What is MuX?

MuX is
a speculative science fiction universe created by

John “Chako” Chakravarty.

MuX stands for Mcdowell Underground Experiment. Somewhere in the Mcdowell mountains is a hidden research facility. There, the US government has unearthed a monolith. Recently, the monolith has revealed a doorway. Passing through the doorway has connected the beings of this universe to the MuX universe.

Who lives in MuX?

“The MuX universe is a series of planets that circle around a massive gravity well. The well itself looks like a scarred X across the sky.”

“These planets are filled with various explorers, frontier barbarians, demonic creatures, massive beasts, ancient relics, and futuristic corporate societies.”

The Barbarians

wage a war on boredom. They demand the loudest music, the frostiest drinks, the raddest dudes, all at the fastest speed.

The Shaman

are the storytellers of the MuX universe. They barter in stories, often stripping the memory from another being’s souls.

The Speakers

watch the timeline of MuX. Through a judgment of the ebb and flow of the universe, Speakers try to predict when the next collective sleep or Yodensleep will occur.

Zol

Zol are curious beings. They live only to observe the MuX universe, so that their observations may be collected during the collective sleep.

Eta

are the rest. Merchants, guards, bureaucratic law doctors make up the Eta. Most are bound to their profession, virtually leashed to their workplace. Some believe that they are awake during the Yodensleep
